Orlando’s Best Pumpkin Patches

Let’s be honest: We go to pumpkin patches for the family pics, not the pumpkins. As moms, there is endless delight in snapping pics of our brood in matching coveralls and checkered shirts so we can share those quintessential fall photos on Facebook. For many, this is as essential a part of the season as pumpkin pie and apple cider. There are several spots worthy of my list of Orlando’s best pumpkin patches, and I list them all below, but (lucky for me) one of the best is right down the street from my neighborhood at the Sanlando United Methodist Church. I’ve been heading to this local gem for five years now and each year it gets better and better.

Besides hundreds of pumpkins, from tiny to gigantic, the Sanlando Pumpkin Patch features something us moms really want: Photo opps! Wagons, bales of hay, scarecrows, even a backdrop image of Charlie Brown, all make splendid spots to strike a pose. After you’ve snapped your fill of smiles, you can head over to the games area where the kiddos can play at several festive beanbag toss and corn hole boards.

Open Monday through Saturday  9 am to 8 pm, as well as noon to 8 pm on Sundays, the Sanlando Pumpkin Patch offers free admission and pumpkins starting at just $1. You can also buy colorful gourds and huge bales of hay. They accept cash, check and credit cards.
